(You) want it that way

We’re big on asking users for feedback. Last month we turned the gaze toward our own subscribers, to learn more about you!

We asked you to complete a short survey to help us understand:

  • who you are
  • what you want to know about
  • how you want to hear it.

Your feedback will help us give you a better experience and allow us to tailor our tests and updates to meet your needs. The survey is still live, so if you haven’t let us know your thoughts yet, please do!

We have some preliminary results that we’d love to share.

Who are you?

45-65 is the largest group of respondents.

Desktops are the most commonly used device for viewing the ATO Beta website.

What do you want (and when do you want it)?

99% of you wanted us to contact you by email. You weren’t too fussed about the time of day or day of the week, but most of you wanted to hear from us 1-2 times per month.

You’re keen to know about:

  • new tests that you can take
  • updates on new ATO digital services
  • usability and design tips
  • the results from our tests
  • user research case studies.

A lot of you mentioned that you’d like to hear how your input has helped shape improvements to ATO services.

What are we doing about it?

Great news: thanks to your efforts, we now know what you’re looking for. We’re going to make sure we talk to you regularly, and give you the type of content you’re interested in.

You’ll also be seeing ‘update’ posts like this one more often so that you can see the impact that your testing has made to our digital products and services.

Finally, we'll be making our tests shorter.
