Unwrapping Beta's year of success!

13 December 2017

Thanks for coming along for the ride with us this year! Your feedback and support has helped us make meaningful contributions to ATO products and services. This year we’ve achieved a lot as well as broadening our involvement across the ATO and other departments.

It was a cracker of a year

Highlights this year included:

  • Helping build and test the first and only Australian online government forum. ATO Community is currently in Beta and is getting ready to go live next year. The forum provides a great way for everyone to find answers to their tax and super questions. By engaging with the public throughout its production we were able to build something that really delivers for the community.
  • Learning more about you, our readers and loyal supporters! You told us exactly what you wanted in our audience survey, and we listened.
  • Focussing on the experience of our staff, because better internal processes help us deliver better services
  • Sharing our knowledge and learnings through blogs and presentations at the Digital Transformation Agency and World Usability Day. This has also led to a number of overseas and Australian government departments reaching out for advice.
  • Collaborating on projects with our friends at the Digital Transformation Agency and the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
  • Inspiring others to follow in our footsteps by involving the community more in the design process.
  • Focussing on building our capabilities to provide a wider variety of services. This includes user experience design, content design and service design.

It’s Testmas all over again

Once again we’ve reopened all of this year’s tests! Give them a go and have a look at what we’ve been working on.

Take a test!

What’s next for ATO Beta?

We will continue to work with you to provide great products and services.

Next year we will be renewing our focus on improving your experience with ato.gov.au. We’ll be conducting a major research piece into who is using the site and what their needs are.

Thanks again for your time and support through the year. We couldn't have done it without you. If you know someone who would like to be involved please share this blog post.

Happy holidays!
